Job Title: Dairy Sire Specialist

 

Reporting to: Genetic Product Manager

 

Primary Location: Heywood House, Chowley Oak Business Park, Chester CH3 9GA.

What will the role of Dairy Sire Specialist entail?

 Whilst reporting to the Genetic Product Manager, your role will be to co-ordinate and promote the coloured breeds programme with emphasis on the British Friesians. Your duties will be as follows;

- Develop, source and purchase the best British Friesian sires on the market in order to grow market share in this key sector.

- Co-ordinate, select and promote the coloured breed product for the UK and International markets.

- Develop, maintain and improve a deep understanding of the coloured breed product lines, alongside industry trends and market knowledge in order to support the UK and International Sales Teams.

- Assist the Holstein and Jersey Sire Analysts with the respective programmes as required.

- Coordinate and produce monthly product communications to the Sales Team.

- Work closely with the Marketing Team to provide technical information for literature, websites and adverts, and when required provide input into marketing strategies.

- Provide product support on farm to the internal and external Sales Teams in order to maintain and grow sales in the UK and Internationally.

- Evaluate the performance of dairy sires on farms for promotional purposes.

- Prepare bulls and daughters for photographs as and when required.


What will I need to be considered for this Dairy Sire Specialist role?

 - Knowledge of the dairy industry, including experience of dairy cattle breeding and pedigrees

 

- Ability to prepare dairy cattle for photographs

 

- Highly organised and able to effectively prioritise own workload to meet deadlines

 

- Superb attention to detail and accuracy

 

- Ambitious with eagerness to develop and take responsibility

 

- Positive outlook with enthusiastic approach to tackling challenges

 

- Good relationship building skills with the ability to work as part of a team and with minimum supervision

 

- Ability to adapt to change

 

- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Attractive Salary: Starting level dependent on experience


Enhanced Benefits: Company car, fuel card, mobile phone and laptop. Annual leave entitlement of 21 days plus bank holidays, rising to 23 days plus bank holidays after 12 months, along with pension and life insurance.


Working Hours: Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5pm. Flexibility will be required on occasion to meet deadlines.


Contract Type: Permanent


Location: Tattenhall, near Chester (Cheshire). Although for this role you will be expected to travel extensively throughout the UK.

So, what will the role of Precision Technician entail?


Reporting to the Precision Operations Manager and Team Leader, you will assist the Precision Reproductive Solutions Team in operating and delivering a high quality reproduction and breeding service, providing expert advice and assisting customers in meeting reproductive objectives, and developing the reproductive service. Tasks to include;

         Building effective relationships with customers to deliver a service that meets their breeding requirements

         Running an efficient service utilising Cogent's state-of-the-art heat detection system and whole herd management solution, to ensure accurate and timely artificial insemination of cattle

         Taking responsibility for your customers fertility data and herd reports

         Preparing reports and providing detailed action reports to customers and Team Leader

         Liaising with industry professionals such as Veterinarians and Nutritionists


What will I need to be considered for this Precision Technician vacancy?

         Good knowledge of animal husbandry, with the ability to understand and converse with industry professionals

         Professional and friendly attitude with excellent communication and rapport building skills

         Highly organised, diligent, self motivated and able to overcome challenges

         Must have a can do attitude and a proven team player, able to deliver the highest quality of service to your customers 365 days a year

         IT literacy

         Full UK driving licence

         Proven experience providing a high standard of artificial insemination services, in-depth reproductive technical knowledge, although full training will be provided for the right candidates
